2U storage server example

The storage enclosure provides four additional 3.5-inch drive bays and enables the dx340, dx360, dx360 M2, and dx360 M3 servers to have up to four 3.5-inch simple-swap SAS hard disk drives or up to five 3.5-inch simple-swap SATA hard disk drives. This enclosure also enables the dx360 M2 and dx360 M3 servers to have up to four 3.5-inch simple-swap SATA and two 2.5-inch simple-swap SATA hard disk drives.

This example shows one dx340 system-board tray with a storage enclosure installed in a 2U chassis.

Note: The drive bay in the system-board tray is not used when the storage enclosure contains 3.5-inch simple-swap SAS drives.
